Cadishead Sports JFC

Cadishead Sports JFC is an FA Charter Standard Community Club offering grassroots football opportunities for boys and girls in Irlam & Warrington.

The club was founded in 1974, playing out of Rowson Drive Playing fields. From humble beginning’s, supported with a handful of volunteers and teams, the club now provides football facilities to a much wider community.

From its early beginnings teams continued to be produced each year. Each year since then, new teams have formed and from this tiny acorn the club has gone from strength to strength. We now have over 400 children representing the club from under 5’s up to under 16’s. Our Philosophy is that football is an inclusive sport for all boys and girls. We have a number of mixed ability and mixed gender teams throughout our age groups.

Cadishead Sports JFC is run entirely by volunteers from our local community. We are committed to long term player development and welcome parents and carers to our coaching team and help support them on their journey to becoming FA Qualified Coaches. We believe this combination provides the best way to generate a fun, positive environment for nurturing talent whilst facilitating strong links with our community.

Your child’s footballing journey will start with small sided mini football with the focus firmly on fun and skill development in an environment where they can express their blossoming skills. Starting at under 5’s we offer training at our all weather facility every Saturday morning. Once the core skill foundation has been developed, your child will transition to mini football from Under 7 to Under 11. At the foundation phase football skills are allowed to develop and flourish within the full range of positions and without the pressure of published results or league tables. The teams are competitive and are fiercely proud to wear the Blue and Black of Cadishead Sports. We celebrate our victories but winning isn’t everything as we want our players to be confident in experimenting and taking risks as they develop their skills.

The club has a number of junior grassroots football teams which play in the Warrington Junior Football League. and play our matches at our home ground of Rowson Drive. We also use Cadishead Park for some of our 9 a side and 11 a side games.
